if you are in tokyo, and want to go to a topnotch sushi place, look up the top 5 sushi places on par with jiro (i.e michelin stars) or look up the top 5 on tabelog.
than give your concierge the top 5 list, usually, you wont be able to get a table at jiro, but you will get a table at one of the restaurants, and trust me, all the restaurants have so high quality standards, as a foreigner, you wont even understand the difference (you will just say, oh my gosh, incredible etc. afterwards)
jiro is in my humble opinion a bit overrated, and the old man doesnt work a lot there days in ginza. his son is mostly doing the work
