Hyatt Aruba REVIEW - MASTER THREAD
Currently at property. Several changes.
No more trading towel cards for towels. They just take your room number.
As mentioned before, the Italian piccolo restaurant is gone. Ruinas has expanded to it. I like the new menu. We had the tenderloin, fish if the day, and the brown rice pasta. All were executed very well.
Wifi seems to have changed. No more wifiaruba option. However there is now a Hyatt Guestroom SSID and this one has good coverage in the family suite. Excellent speed and seems to be complimentary (no logging in at all).
Service at front desk seem to be less stellar than previous stays. Arrived at property at 4PM. Family suite was not avail and had a 30 min wait. Asked if we can get comp club access for the inconvenience (dropped from diamond to plat). Front desk manager came out and said no. Only for Diamonds. I'm familiar with the rules so I've no problem with the message but the way it was communicated needs some work. Front desk manager didn't introduce herself by name and sternly communicated the message. Didn't even mention the room not being ready as an inconvenience.
This coupled with us stating here three years in a row would make me definitely take a look at the Ritz Carlton next year especially if it participates in AMEX FHR.
