Question on International Credit for medical reasons
I broke my femur in late April and was advised by my doctor to cancel a London trip I had planned in early July and not to plan on flying until at least Mid July (I am still non weight bearing on my let foot) and said he would be glad to give me medical documentation if I needed it. I called Delta from the Hospital last month to cancel the trip (the didn't require anything in writing just my doctors name and number and not sure if they called him or not) and I asked the agent if I could use the credit (it was booked in January and was an S fare so for a significant amount) I the credit could be used on a domestic ticket or if it had to be international and if it could be used on more than one flight. He told me it could be used on more than one flight until it was depleted as long as travel was completed by January xx (1 year after purchase) and since I cancelled a few tickets I couldn't combine the credits on one ticket, that only one credit could be used per purchase (which I knew that policy).
Today I called to book a DTW to ATL ticket in October and wanted to use part of the DTW/LHR credit and was placed on hold for over 10 minutes by the PM desk and was told that the credit could only be used for another ticket for the same price or higher since it was international!!!!
I really won't be able to fly international until October and the weather won't be great then and fares have gone up significantly between DTW and LHR.
I can't find anything on Deltas page. I don't want to call back and be put on hold again if the second agent was correct.
Which agent was correct on Delta's policy and should I try calling back?
