So the one I mentioned earlier is a doable route? Just have a couple of transfers to deal with.

That's a subway map. JR is a train, not a subway.

I don't think that the Tokyo transfer is nearly as bad as Richard believes it to be, but I guess you will have to make the call for yourself (you could always try both and then let us know which was better! )
