You don't have to be escorted out of T5A (that happens only once an hour, why wait). Just take the train to T5C, don't get off. on the way back it deposits you at passport control (if you wait for that hourly escort, you get deposited same place...)
Done this twice. First time similar to procedure described above. Denied passage through security due to system showing I already entered with my BP. Seemed to cause a little disturbance when requesting the new BP, however, almost cross-examined about reasons etc. After a new BP was issued, entrance OK'd, directly to GF to pick up stored bag.

Second time described need to pick up documents from someone landside to CS rep inside GF. He wrote in the system what was happening. Escorted service out, and when returning went straight to F check-in for a new BP. They saw on the screen what occurred and without questions, a new BP was produced. Don't think anyone at the bag storage will have any thoughts if you go shopping and eating for some hours airside the terminal, or if actually going landside.
