Can AC change its corporate culture in a short time?
Not sure...
According to traditional organizational development and change management doctrine ,the only sure way to effect dramatic change in an organization is to shake up the organization. GE's former CEO did it that way.
The problem is that AC's corporate culture has strong vestiges of the Crown Corporation days. Without a leadership change, I have serious doubts that real change can be effected in the timeframe required by CCAA.
The confrontation mode leadership/unions has to stop. Trust in each other has to return so that they can share the common vision of restoring this airline to health.
Robert Milton is not the man to heal this rift. His style is too abrasive and his credibility is low. He has to go...
The unions have also to look at their leadership and give them a clear mandate.
It still is early in the process. If leadership change is not effected in due time, I am not hopeful in the long term survival of this airline.
