My view is that Ottawa is very unwilling to pump cash into AC. They may help AC but in what form, I don't know. The Government isn't so concerned with your mileage account balance, they are more worried about the disruption of transportation and how it will affect businesses and the people in general. So they might focus on this goal when helping AC and the accounts may/may not survive.</font>
Not a great comparison, at least to me. Switzerland an entirely different case given its small size, super rail network, central geographical location in Europe, etc. The Swiss government obviously felt it citizens could survive without the orginal Swissair. Of course Canada could survive without AC but it would isolate certain areas of this vast land and that may be very unpopular politically.
