Definitely don't wait too late to leave the city because the evening traffic towards Ezeiza can be a nightmare, especially on Fridays, and if there is an accident, all bets are off. You are far better off getting there too early but then relaxing in either the LAN lounge or the very remotely located, yet fine temporary Admirals Club versus sweating it out in a traffic jam only to find the line for security clear out of the security hall, snaking around a couple of times, then running along the upper mezzanine walkway above the ticket counters like I had the pleasure of experiencing last year.
Good advice, that was my experience last week. Took about an hour to get to EZE at 7pm (for a 10.30pm flight). Was through immigration and security in 5-10mins. LAN lounge is new and pleasant with a decent selection of red wines. AA check-in staff told me to go there rather than the AC.
