I just wanted to let everyone know that there is a little hope for reconsideration. My wife applied for the personal version of the card about a month ago. It was pending at first and she received a letter to call because they needed more information. After calling, two days later it was denied and we were sent a letter saying it was because of too many recent applications. I waited a while and wrote a reconsideration letter about a week ago to the address on the denial. (Making sure it would arrive within 30 days of the original application date.) Two days ago when I called the hotline the status had changed from denial to pending. This morning when I called it was approved! I don't know if it was the lesser version that was approved or even what the limit is, but it is an approval nonetheless!
