Pro - usually the one day during what is probably the highest ever Peak travel time of the year it is still possible to get a seat and going by the luck of the draw there may be plenty of empty seats on board for extra leg room. Airport Terminals too will be less crowded but more so in the US.
Cons - lack of public transport at the other end and taxis costing an arm and a leg.
