They have not, of course, "announced" it, just slipped it in, but with 5 777HDs on their way, they have to use them somewhere.
And as another poster pointed out, the cramped seats are not the only issue - these aircraft have inadequate washroom capacity and limited galley space - maybe the theory is that if they don't feed you or provide liquids, you want need the washroom.
