As a Brit I face challenges with tipping in the US so tend to over do it .

AIUI staff in a regular US restaurant very much depend on tips as a part of their income, and the salary level reflects this.

How does the Hilton salary for EL staff reflect expectations?

BTW, I usually tip $1 or so per drink in EL and staffed airport lounge bars. More if I'll be there a while . Its usually appreciated, and I suspect they're resigned to nor expect it from someone non-US.
