I agree, as with most hotels/airlines, etc I seem to get much better service in Asia than elsewhere.
Had 3 stays at St. Regis Osaka last year - used butler service. Always quite attentive and efficient. I will admit I never used them for the packing or unpacking - just seemed alittle too much for me.
