Thanks moderator for moving my message - this thread was perfect! Called in and got it done - thanks to Flyertalk, 14 hours of my life are going to be downright pleasant rather than substantially uncomfortable. What a website.
I really wouldn't have even bothered calling without your advice, I thought for sure they'd just act incapable and tell me to wait for the waitlist, but the first agent I called got it done (although not before putting my on hold for 5-10 minutes after saying "it is based on priority"). This makes me think she actually checked the status / fare code of the two people who were already waitlisted - totally reasonable if so, but I bet this would piss off 1Ks who turn out to have a couple GSs in front of them with RN showing >0.
So is the "no new upgrade certificates applied within 24 hours" thing from back in March 2012 completely fixed now? That's great if so, will affect me quite often.
