Today, I took the spinner back to Costco and returned it. I'm back in the US for vacation and figured now was as good a time as ever.

I had to replace the wheels 3 times. The Ricardo of Beverly Hills customer service was very nice and accomodating; they sent replacement wheels overseas! But this is something that shouldn't have to be done - especially for a suitcase marketed for international travel (i.e., a bag meant for checking, not carry-on).

I bought the Kirkland Signature 29" hardside spinner instead. It's on sale right now for $129. It's a polycarbonate case made from Makrolon. Hope it lasts!
