The important thing is not lose Silver if you can avoid it and take the benefit of a soft landing from Gold if you can.

My years run from early November these days and I start taking of stock of where I am about now. I hit 2,800TPs last year and am at c. 1,200TPs now. As like as not, work flying will have me well over 2,000TPs in the late summer, early autumn. But, then again, things may change. So I've just booked an ex-EU jaunt for a month or so's time that will take me to 1,495TPs.

Since they equalised the earnings bumps between Gold and Silver, the value has narrowed.

Not getting hit with fees for changes or redeposits of miles tix as a Gold is nice, though.
