We had great service from Hertz earlier this year when our flight to INV was diverted to ABZ because of fog.

As I knew the Inverness airport office would be closing before the coach transfer got us there, I went to the counter at ABZ to enquire what to do and at that moment was called by Inverness who knew about the diversion. Amazingly, Hertz at ABZ provided a car as reserved in INV and allowed the one-way drop-off without any additional charge as we had pre-paid. In fact, the agent said they would have to pay someone more than our one-day rental charge to drive the vehicle back!

Not sure if this is just excellent customer service or if the Hertz Number One Club Gold card had any sway - I actually think the former in this case.
