AF does allow you to have one piece of baggage in the cabin + a laptop (or handbag). I have seen the one cabin item strictly enforced on another LCC. Not sure about easyjet. For the checked baggage, AF's limit is 23Kg, while easyjet's is 20kg IIRC.
Easyjet does have a one-piece only policy (standard size carry-on) and it is generally enforced. OTOH, they have no weight limit on cabin luggage. I usually put my laptop/secondary small bag in my main carry-on and "liberate it" later on.
