AF does allow you to have one piece of baggage in the cabin + a laptop (or handbag). I have seen the one cabin item policy strictly enforced on another LCC. Not sure about easyJet. For the checked baggage, AF's limit is 23Kg, while easyJet's is 20kg IIRC. If you do need the additional 3kg, the additional cost is EUR 27 online and EUR 42 at the airport.
With easyJet, you can also add a second bag for EUR 13, but it doesn't add any additional weight allowance, so it is still a total of 20kg for two bags for a single passenger.
In my case, when comparing travelling with AF or LH with a second bag, up to 23kg, the cost of two 23kg bags would be with easyJet: EUR 26 for two pieces and 20kg, plus an additional EUR 216 for an additional 24kg. At least, that's what I've understood when trying to book on the easyJet website. With AF MiNi, the additional cost would be EUR 20 in order to move from MiNi to Classic, and zilch with AF Classic or LH mainline, as I have status with both.
