It was 1981 and a school trip from Belfast to London (we got all the exciting destinations!) in the good old "Super Shuttle" days when you could just turn up with your paper coupon.

I was talking about this to my 4 year old daughter only yesterday as she has already flown c. 50,000 miles and by her age I hadn't even set foot in an airport never mind got on a plane! She was saying that by the time she is my age she will go into space and take me with her - who knows, if beardy gets his way she may be right and what is currently on the cusp of being an expensive reality may be a routine and affordable trip.
