Hello,
I was hoping to get some recent feedback about this topic. My goal is to avoid all international voice roaming charges on my AT&T iPhone 4S in Europe. I would like to use data roaming and maintain the ability to receive inbound SMS - no airplane mode.
My understanding is that I can use unconditional call forward before I leave the US to avoid being charged for "missed" calls while in Europe.
My plan is to enable unconditional call forward via *21 (not the iOS menu) and send calls to my Google Voice number.
Does anyone have any experience with this? Has anyone been charged for missed calls despite doing this? Someone in this thread mentioned being charged but it wasn't clear if this was the same scenario or if something else went wrong.
Thanks
Bill
