SpringHill Suites New York LaGuardia Airport, Corona, New York

(With apologies. I thought there was an existing thread but am striking out on search. Please merge if there is and I'll put all the magic words in my title so any thread will search better).

New build, or possibly a complete rebuild, near but not right next to LaGuardia.

Standard current-generation city SpringHill, which is a good thing in this context. By New York standards the rooms are large, and as I recall larger than the Flushing and Astoria FI's. (By rest of North America standards rooms are medium). Lobby is very large by New York non-full serve standards and has several new if not rapid computers. The hotel wireless network also worked for us if also not exactly lightning. New, clean, friendly. No complaints about controllable variables except wireless speed. You could do way worse for a place to sleep.

My cautions would be the geography is not conducive for basing yourself here to do New York City. Several block walk to the 7 Train, and while I did it in good weather it's too far in the rain and I don't think so at night. There is a Northern Blvd. bus which stops eastbound/northbound on it's way to downtown Flushing across the street, and southbound/westbound a block to the north of the hotel just past the Ford dealership, apparently on it's way to Queensboro Plaza transit hub you could catch a train at. Verify first, but I think it was the Q66 bus).

Also, there are very few dining choices in Corona near the hotel at all, and I'm not sure how far I would walk after dark. The nearby places are all hole-in-the wall Dominican/Ecudorian/Brazilian, so that has to work for you. (A regular on the shuttle did recommend the small Dominican place across the side street just to the south. The hotel offers delivery service from an Italian restaurant but I can't speak for it one way or the other.
