I'm not one for hyperbole usually, but for crying out loud, I have never encountered anything as mindblowingly utterly disgusting as The Gloop(tm). How anyone can even consider uttering the words "fresh food" in connection with this rubbish is beyond me. The "Mustard Chicken" in particular wouldn't look out of place in a North Korean labour camp.
They now serve the same Gloop in GF, which means that GC has been enhanced to the level of GF. I still have four BA return flights coming up in the next months (two TATL and two SH, reserved before the lounge catering enhancements) but I am glad that all my new reservations from September on will be on other carriers. I have this choice since my home base is not London. I am offended by the PR message forwarded to this forum by the BA representative-messenger (probably not her fault). Being Gold Star Alliance and Gold FB, I will very soon reach the highest tier level with both these airline groups. BA is not longer a preferred airline for me. I will not avoid BA completely (for some TATL destinations) and hence will still at least be BA silver in the future but my loyalty to BA, which was based upon a decent Flounge at LHR, is gone. Time to move forward and looking forward to experience cleaner cabins, newer planes, other F and J seats and enhanced seating configurations (let me dream..). For me, the mid J 747 configuration 'enhancement' was as disturbing as this lounge catering enhancement. Do you know any other airline where F and J have to disembark after WTP-economy on LH flights? Do you know of any other airline which serves The Gloop in their lounges? Please tell me so that I can also exclude these from my preferred list.
