Interestingly, however, there are still 12 spots in F that SHARES is holding back, probably expecting to sell TOD upgrades. There are 16 folks waiting to upgrade. I hope they make it....
So of the 36 spots in F on this 787, probably only a half dozen or so will go to folks purchasing F airfare. No wonder that UA considers first class to be a drain nowadays....and no wonder that they do everything they can, to restrict the R and RN inventories. If it wasn't for CPU/RPU/GPU upgrades, their first class cabins would probably be vacant. (And of course, this explains much of the deterioration, in their first class service. If people aren't going to pay money for first class, why should UA invest in it?)
