So my husband applied for the gold delta amex using the 30K signup bonus link back in feb. The day after he applied, he realized that he had a targeted offer for 35K miles in his email (the account he rarely checks) that arrived 2 days earlier. We sent a message to amex, they assured us they would get back to us about it, and never did. We just called amex to see what the deal was and they let us know that they "don't do that anymore". Even when I reminded the rep that we asked 2 days after applying for the card, when I know for sure they were matching offers, esp targeted offers, because they did it for me, he said there was no way he could do it. Anyone have a similar experiences? Are they truly not matching offers at all anymore or did I just get a bad rep? Worth trying again?
