I would recommend prebooking your meals (something else I forgot to mention above), especially on the return LAX-LHR, since you will be on the wrong end of FEBO. (Food is served from back to front in the cabin on odd numbered flights)
Other way around if I'm not mistaken: if you're at the front on the LHR-LAX service you'll be served last (the BO part of FEBO..).
I'm booked on an AA 77W flight to JFK next month (in 3J). Didn't realise I could pre-order food. I'll try and do it now!
