I would just pursue the issue of reimbursement through insurance or BA during regular business hours. Whether reimbursed or not you will still need to spend the money, so might as well maximize your chances of reimbursement.

I would not expect BA to reimburse this, but it's exactly the sort of thing which insurance does cover.
