Additional closures have happened in the past two days within my family. Three aunts have had their Citicards closed (I believe all had the 5X GGD card). My uncle had all of his Citicards closed, he didn't have any 5X card currently, but in the past he had the 5X for the first 6 months. All have been closed within the past 48 hours.

Sounds like if you have a 5x and you have ever bought a GC, your account is closed indiscriminately.

naive to believe Citi would differentiate treatments based on actual situation.
Everyone affected needs to file complaint with CFPB, their States AG Offices, and Small Claim Count.
