Additional closures have happened in the past two days within my family. Three aunts have had their Citicards closed (I believe all had the 5X GGD card). My uncle had all of his Citicards closed, he didn't have any 5X card currently, but in the past he had the 5X for the first 6 months. All have been closed within the past 48 hours.
Both my parents still have their 5X GGD cards open. My wife also still has her 5X GGD card open.
I fear it's just a matter of time.
I suggest all of u who still have their accounts open empty out your TY accounts ASAP. GC, flights whatever, just get the xxxx out of it.
The close integration between Citi & TY was the main reason I quit this program years back. I lost significant TY points because of account conversion forced by Citi. Thereafter I made it up and immediately close all my TY sponsor accounts. My TY is still open with a balance of
-XX,XXX. Citi/TY can do whatever they want with my TY account
