There could be many reasons, some I can think of:
Those aircraft out of position like you already mentioned.
Crew going out of hours.
Restrictions imposed by the airport operator.
Overcrowding in the terminal.
They may have wanted to perform additional checks on the other A319 aircraft.
If all flights were just delayed by 2 hours then some flights would enter into the curfew time where the number of flights are restricted.
