I don't think OZ flights are uncomfortably hot throughout the flight. In fact, the temperature fluctuates quite a bit during the flight. Usually getting quite cool during the flight.

As for vents, I think maybe the 747 might be the only planes that have the vents? I know that the 777, A330, and A320/321 do not have air vents.
