Thank you for your essay. I was given the reason that you have to speak Korean to sit in an emergency exit seat when I requested and was refused an open emergency exit seat. The policy may have changed since then, or I may have been lied to, or maybe you look more Korean than me, but that is what I was told.
As for the temperature, I have sat back and front, upper deck and lower deck (almost always aisle seat though) and OZ always cranks the temperature up to uncomfortable levels during the flight (25°C or more). I've given up asking them to change because they might change it from 26° to 25° but nothing significant. This is nothing to do with the air conditioning not being powerful enough but, you are right, air vents would have helped.
