Sorry for jumping in.
Will stay there early August, taking the train from Switzerland to Florence, renting a Fiat 500 (small car, great design and memories) from Hertz, around 90 € for 3 days.
May run into you! Will be staying there first weekend in August. As you, we're renting a mini class (Cinquecento hopefully as it's my wife's car in the States) and driving down from MXP. Doing AutoEurope for 2 weeks as we're heading to Marche for a week. Hadn't planned on staying at Il Ciocco but I've got two cat 1-5 certs coming off of the current promo and I read this thread so I decided we'd detour a bit and spend a few days in Tuscany!
