Hi, I'm new here and this is my first post, I hope you can help me clarify some doubts about multi-city tickets.

I'm planning a round the world trip using AVIOS and I'm considering various options.

I've spoken to BA sales team but after 25 minutes waiting on the line they were of no help.



FIRST QUESTION:

I have a BA AMEX Companion Voucher and I would like to make the most out of it pairing it to a multi-city ticket, I am also aware that I can only redeem it on BA flights. Unfortunately all the BA operated flies are from/to London.

For example:

LHR=A
BKK=B
JFK=C

I would like to fly from A to B, then from B to C going through A and then back to A (A-B-A-C-A). In the example, since BA does not operate any flights from BKK to JFK, I have to go through LHR.

London (LHR) to Bangkok (BKK)
Bangkok (BKK) to London (LHR)
London (LHR) to New York (JFK)
New York (JFK) to London (LHR)

Can that be considered a multi-city ticket?

Also, will all the legs be included under only one ticket (as the companion voucher can be only paired to one ticket)?

Now, considering:

London (LHR) to Delhi (DEL)
Singapore (SIN) to Sydney (SYD)
Los Angeles (LAX) to London (LHR)

can it be considered a multi-city ticket (and also, can I pair the companion voucher?)?



SECOND QUESTION:

Now forget the BA AMEX Companion Voucher for a moment.

Regarding the Avios redemption tariffs - Using BA plus two Partners or just two Partners the ticket will be priced per distance rather than per segment.



For example:

LAX-LIM,SCL-AKL-SYD-PER,CNS-POM,CGK-SIN,KUL-HKT,RGN-HKG-CMB,DEL-LHR 22,967 mi

it should be 120,000 Avios if booked with the multi-partner option, if booked with the segment option it would be in excess of 200,000 Avios.

I could not price it on MatrixITA because apparently there is a limit of 6 legs in the multi-city bookings that is common to all the airlines (Am I right??). Is there a solution to book it as a single ticket? Which kind of ticket would it be?



On the other side if I split it in two it would become:

1 - LAX-LIM,SCL-AKL-SYD-PER,CNS-POM 14084 mi
2- CGK-SIN,KUL-HKT,RGN-HKG-CMB,DEL-LHR 8883 mi

So, using the distance pricing, 1 will cost 90,000 Avios and 2 will cost 60,000. The total (150,000) will still be better than the segment pricing over 200,000. Also, I have successfully priced 1 and 2 on MatrixITA.

Can I book them as a multi-city ticket? How?
