There is another chat on this on the OMNI board....
In terms of travelers to the area.....
who knows how long this will be out.
This is located in a prime tourist location where this bridge is just South of the WA 20 interchange. WA 20 takes you to the east to North Cascades and across the mountains (open only seasonanlly). to the West is Anacotes and the ferrys to San Juans aand continuing on it leads to Whidby Island.
What it looks like they are going to do with traffic....
Have trucks and south bound traffic use the path to the West of the highway (5 min side trip).
Non trucks/trailors travel to I-5 from North Cascades would be rerouted onto WA-9 and then a cut over road to the south of the accident and onto the highway. this route will likely also be used for north bount I-5 car commuters.
The tourist alternates might be to take Mulkateo ferry onto Whidby then to anacortes then take some side roads to meet up with I-5. Or you take the long route to easter washington then p 97 to WA 20 then meet up with I0-5
