Another example...
I was in Sainsbury's Market Pimlico the other day buying lemons. It was 30p a lemon, or five in a net for GBP 1.65. The lemons in a net were exactly the save as the loose ones.
A lady picked up a net and I said with a friendly voice and a smile "the loose lemons are 15p cheaper if you buy five".
The lady said "it's OK, they are for my office". I said "no reason not to save money" and handed her a plastic bag. She smiled, filled it with five lemons and went on her way.
But I was surprised by the attitude of "it's for my office" and since somebody else is paying it is OK to spend more money than I need to!

If the difference had been over £1 and she was collecting Nectar points she may have hated you

I suspect she'd not have checked the saving even if buying for herself, people often assume multi-packs are cheaper without checking.
Back on the subject of trains, it would be great if there was some integration with the national rail systems such that if your domestic flight was cancelled and no alternatives operating you could log into MMB and opt to go by train and be sent a code to collect your tickets from a ticket machine at the station.
That would mean BA could negotiate a special rate for these trips and also save those who may not be able to afford to be out of pocket for even a short while the hassle. The only thing to be concerned with is if that system booked everyone into standard class.
