It was slow and it wasn't a GTI. Different expectations going in, which are now mitigated by a wealth of knowledge I didn't have back then. I suspect I'd have similar complaints about a low-displacement BMW as well, although at least it's got RWD going for it. The Merc would be nice from a novelty standpoint as I love the design of the new A-klasse.
