The ORD-BRU segment is J, BRU-CDG is Y. For whatever reason those seats were only available in Y to AE (UA MP members can access saver seats on that flight in J but for whatever reason they are inaccessible to AE), so I figured I'd suck it up for the one hour segment to CDG
But I will take your advice and try to upgrade that segment if seats become available. But either way I can use the Fast Lane being on a J award? Good to know.
I have encountered only 1 dreadful BRU security line and luckily I located the Fast Lane lines which were also bad. Every other time, things have been pretty smooth. Your scheduled arrival at 9 am should be after the big crush of African flights and around the time of the AC flight ex-YUL, 9W from YYZ and NYC, DL from JFK so it's not looking too, too bad.
