[You can book tickets with LH under a Fly&Drive or Fly&Stay tour operator package and only pay 30 days before travel. However in this case you get an invoice from your TA and the risk of bankruptcy or non performance moves someplace else. I do this for 70-80% of my longhaul Y flights, especially to the US. However in that case your funds are insured as per Sicherungschein. If you are not recieving this then you need to query this since it required by law.
