Travelling with wheelchair - so far so good...
So I'm travelling LHR-GLA with my (adult) daughter who is currently unable to walk long distances, and so is using a wheelchair. Having never flown with a chair user, I wondered how it would be.....
I'd rung BA a week or so back, so they have some record on the PNR that we are coming. Apparently this means the chair may be able to come in the cabin....
Check in - they've tagged the chair with luggage tags but we using it to get to the gate, so they've attached a massive "Return to aircraft door" orange label. Hopefully we will be able to take it on board but if this works it'll be ok.
Security - went to Security South Fast Track, taking the picture was slightly more involved (needed use a handheld camera) but they we got whisked to the front of a queue for security. The chair got a good wiping down but all very efficient.
Lounge - we wanted to get the the F-lounge, but didn't fancy the long and winding route, so I asked the CCR rooom door lady, who asked her manager, and let us 'cut the corner' through the CCR. Bending the rules but in a good cause, I approve. Sadly, my only time in the CCR......
In the F-lounge, they looked up the gate without me asking, so that we could plan better. Nice.
So I'm happy to say the staff so far could not have been more helpful....
