You seem to have decided BA lost your ID Card. Perhaps you need to take a step back and actually read the responses above. Lost Property is handled by BAA. The extra A was not a typo, it stands for British Airports Authority. So once the crew called for you and you did not come back for it due to the position you were physically in, it would have been passed to them. Therefore it there is a possibility that a BA staff Member lost it again, or it was lost / mislabelled in the BAA system, but without actually checking with both organisations as to what happened, you cannot apportion blame and make sweeping statements blaming one, as they are not logical.
Calm down, check with both, as if BA checked it into BAA, BAA or BA would have a record
