I wondered the same thing myself. My guess is that if they effectively advertised the minimum acceptable bid, then most people wouldn't go Ny higher and they would lose potential $.

Also, NZ may not even know themselves, depending on when the bid is placed. If you bid, say $175 on a TT flight 3 months in advance, it might be enough then, but by the time T-7 days comes around, the cabin might be more full and thus they'd require a higher bid.

Just guesses on my part though, which is all one can do.
