There is no such thing as a stupid question. @:-)

My rational is that if I rent a car for a week I would have to pay them a fee that could be most likely n the $70 - $100 range. At that point I could have paid for approximately 1/2 the price of a GPS like the Garmin 2475LT that retails on the Garmin site or $189 and that if I look around will be even less expensive from a online merchant. A unit like that comes with North America and Europe preloaded.
