Roughly about a month ago I closed a Bank of America credit card. Today I took a look at all of my credit reports, and it looks like B of A initiated multiple hard credit pulls day after the closure. The pulls came off of all three of the credit bureaus with Transunion and Experian actually being pulled twice, so a grand total of five hard pulls.
So my question is has this ever happened to anyone, where a bank decides to pull credit after a request for closing an account? And if so, has anyone ever received a reason from the card issuer as to why they felt the action was needed?
Something is amiss. Never heard of a bank doing a hard pull when closing an acct.
