no this will be the first time. I am basing my information on what I've read on the Verizon and other phone forums in the US. One of the reasons I got this phone was that I could use it in Germany. As it turned out, it's not truly "global" in the sense that you can't set the APN (?) which prevents one from using data/internet, but based on reports I've read voice and text should work.

I guess I'll find out, and will post back here one way or the other.
