In a perfect world, this is theoretically possible, I think. But there are a lot of variables - including the fact that the person could be traveling with the person in the D seat, etc. - so it would probably be really hard to pull off.
Not to mention that seat C could be assigned to a different coach passenger. Doing this all in discussion with the gate agent makes it possible that the gate agent will try to prevent that from happening, but I'd imagine there's no guarantee, particularly if the flight is full in coach and certainly if there are any standby passengers.
