I am hoping to snatch a trip to US next month, but my passport expires in 5 months. I was about to give up, but then I read about "Six Month Club" so my hopes are still alive. I do want to make sure that I can travel, so does this still work? Has anybody had any experience in this matter?
Also, please do not waste your time telling me that I should renew passport. I know. My country takes 3 months to do so, so not much I can do at this point.
I assume you are a Citizen of Japan?
Japan is part of the " six month" club. This basically means your passport only needs to be valid for the duration of your time while in the US. For example, if you plan on staying in the US for one week, your passport needs to be valid for one week.
China, is not part of the six month club. Their passport needs to be valid for six months plus the time they wish to remain in the US. For example, if a Chinese Citizen wishes to stay for six months in the US, their passport needs to be valid for one year. Six months for their stay and six months for not being part of the six month club.
