Aeroplan, MPM5, and routing?

Hey folks,

I'm new to all this but I've been soaking up info and trying not to ask stupid questions, so apologies if this is really simple stuff

I'm trying to figure out how to book a business class redemption YZF-MXP/LIN/BGY for 2 people for fall 2014 (yes I know I can't actually book just yet). I'm having some problems figuring out routing as it applies to MPM5.

We'd like a stopover in Europe, somewhere, ZRH would be awesome, but really anywhere in western europe is fine.

I've picked up an EF subscription, and it can't find an MPM for YZF-MXP. The MPM5 from YYC to MXP (nearest major hub) is 6247.

So if there's no published MPM for YZF-MXP does that mean that my MPM is counted out of calgary? Thus burning up my precious 5% on the YZF-YYC leg? I'm ok paying out of pocket to get to calgary if it works out better for routing.

If not, how is the MPM calculated for a route like this? What constitutes a "published route"?

As for the redemption I'm ok paying the exorbitant scamcharges if I have to (we'll still get our value out of the pesos), but obviously less is better, so routing through YUL on LX for ZRH.......but then I run into the MPM issue?
