Tried it once on LHR-MAD. After that experience, I would probably choose BA next time.
- During boarding, I wanted to turn left. The crew just stood there, looking confused and not really noticing there was a passenger who wanted to get tio his seat.
- A 30 minute delay (fair enough) became a 60 minute delay. On the screen in front of me, I could see the tail camera showing that the rear cargo door was still open, and there were some people there poking a flashlight around, looking for damages or something. Not a single word from cockpit durong those extra 30 minutes. Experience on BA is that id there's a delay, they'll tell you, and they tell you why.
The service was so-and-so. The dinner probably a better meal than the afternoon tea served on the flight I had originally booked and then changed (just to fly the A346).
- During approach, the crew were stressing around, and not being seated untill the very final moment before touch down.
Add also that this was a late flight in the first place, then add the 1 hour delay (and me missing the first Hilton Shuttle), I wasn't at my hotel before 30 minutes after midninght.
So, if flying business class I would choose an IB A340 for the seat, but BA for about anything else.
