It's not like the no lounge, no breakfast for golds and plats "rule" for resorts is something new, it has been the case as long as I can remember. I do not like it that resorts do not provide full benefits to elites, but there is not a lot I can do about it by kvetching. As a matter of fact, I think it is a cop out on the part of Marriott for them to say that resorts are not business hotels, when most of the domestic resorts have SIGNIFICANT conference, and business facilities, and I have attended conferences at several of those resorts through the years.

JW Marriott Desert Ridge Resort is a perfect example, a golf course resort with huge conference facilities (large enough to accommodate about 2,000 plus attendees), and the only lounge they have is like a membership country club with a daily rate for hotel guests.
